WELCOME!

Ingenuity literally changes our lives every day. In the 21st century, we've become accustomed to technology that moves at the speed of light. But the inventions of the 19th and 20th centuries were no less dramatic - and they had lasting impacts on the way we live today.

At the Elliott Museum, we explore a bygone lifestyle and show how ingenuity has affected how we live, shop, work and travel. Our vast collection includes life-size dioramas, vintage clothing and memorabilia, early inventions and an outstanding array of antique automobiles and baseball memorabilia. Take a look at what we have to offer, and plan to visit today! Click here for directions and admission information.

OUR NEW LOOK

In addition to our new website, the Historical Society of Martin County has introduced its new visual identity, or logo. The stylized “E” embodies three colors: gold, green and blue, one for each entity of our organization.

The Historical Society maintains its traditional green, representing growth and progression. The Elliott Museum’s color is a warm gold, symbolizing worth, while the House of Refuge, with a history and location closely tied to the Atlantic Ocean, is blue. The new symbol visually connects all three organizations under one umbrella, with the Elliott Museum being the flagship identity.

Also new is our positioning statement, “Yesterday’s Ingenuity. Tomorrow’s Inspiration.” The tag line effectively focuses on the past strengths and future direction of this dynamic organization.
